WHAT IS THIS SITE ABOUT?

This site is dedicated to establish the fact that our ultimate success in this Dunia and Akhirat is only in religion - obedience to Allah s.w.t and following the Sunnah of Nabi s.a.w.

I think before we venture into a sacred and holy issue like religion, we should at least qualify ourselves, right? So, I have posted this three mind-boggling questions for all of us to answer or just ponder.

What is your purpose of life here on earth?
What are your necessities in life on earth and who fulfilled it?
What are your responsibilities in life here on earth?

This simple qualification is togauge our awareness on our purpose, neccessities and responsibilities.

In this blog, I shall commit to these basic tenets....

-I shall not dwell into hukum hakam, halal haram as those are better handled by an Ustaz or Alim. After all, hukum hakam is just 1/6 of the Quran! What is the other 5/6? Muslims are already engaged in thousands of arguments and we don't need to further fan the fire or "tragedy". I was told, even in Solat, there are more than 200 "point of disagreement"!

-I shall not dwell into furu', Fiqh and other intricacies. Islam has 2 major sects, 4 major Mazhabs, more than 20 types of fikrah, many ideologies, different political affiliations and other trends. Discussions on this is filled to the brim, some already exploded! So, I am not wasting time in any war of words on any issues with anyone.

-I shall dwell into sharing with you some food for the soul. As our body needs nutrients, our soul too needs nur (light) in the form of reminders from the Quran, Hadith, Hayatus Sahabah, provoking questions and fikir to enlighten our hearts! An enlightened heart ( heart filled with the Greatness of Allah and the love of Nabi s.a.w, virtues of amal and promises of Allah etc) will drive us to amal, insya Allah. It is all about our iman (faith) and our amal ( deeds)

-I shall dwell into instilling the fikir, risau and bimbang ( thoughts, worries and anxiety) of Nabi s.a.w towards his ummat and the fikir, risau and bimbang about the state of our iman and the quality of our amal.

-I shall dwell into imparting the virtues of amal ( fadhillat amal) so that we can value each amal and be convinced of the promises of Allah s.w.t behind each amal. Only when we know the virtues of amal would we be encouraged to amal!

-I shall qualify that most posts here are excerpts or notes dictated from the many sermons I attended the last fifteen years and books, audio and video presentations by many Ulama's, Hafiz, Muhaddith, Alims and Maulanas from all over the world. I shall also qualify that the posts here can be referred to many Muktabbar books on Islam.

-I shall qualify that our limited knowledge on Quran and the known Muktabbar books of Islam may lead us to perceptions, misinterpretation and assumptions on some issues. If to understand Quran needs 17 key ilm (knowledge) and with 300000 Hadith in different Books and 4 different Mazhabs with different interpretations, I think we can agree the huge task for all of us to grasp Islam. However, there is indeed, today, although very rare and few, people who are a Hafiz, a Muhaddith and an Alim of the four Mazhabs! Yes! We just need to "identify" their traits and if possible, muzakarrah with them. However, identifying that trait is a different ilm altogether!

-I shall ensure that contents of this blog is about self-correction, not correcting others! It was not intended to be educational nor producing decrees or fatwa! You can't be an Ustaz by visiting this Blog! It is for you and me to gauge the state of our iman and amal. When we know our state of iman and amal, measured against a certified yardstick i.e yardstick in the eyes of Allah swt and Rasulullah s.a.w, we will know "how good or bad we are"! So, from there we would begin to see what we need to do to enhance our iman and amal!

Agree? Are you with me?

I hope, from this blog, you would get that "food for your soul" and eventually be able to gauge your state of iman and quality of amal. Again, this blog is about self-correction, not correcting others!

I am also happy to hear your comments! By the way, for the benefit of all, I do mix English and Malay in my blog purely to maintain the authenticity of the notes and messages. Please comment...

May Allah give us hidayat. Doa...

WHERE DO MUSLIMS DIFFER? WHAT IS THE MAIN POINT OF CONTENTION?

Laa ilah hailallah muhammad darasulullah is the pledge of a faith of a Muslim. Laailah hailallah, the no God but Allah's portion of the pledge is readily, clearly and universally accepted by all Muslims! No doubt about it! It is so true that even to a Muslim who doesn't pray, calling him a Kafir will annoy and irritate him! He would tend to defend his faith! It is in the muhammad darasullah portion of the pledge that Muslims readily, clearly and universally differs! This the main point of contention.

In prayers, a Muslim that pledge Allah as his God may not necessarily follows the way Muhammad s.a.w prays! Isn't following Muhammad s.a.w a command from Allah s.w.t? Ulama said, Islam encompasses five main state: imaniat, ibadat, muamallat, muasyarat and akhlak. Is the imaniat of the Muslims following Muhammad s.a.w? Is the ibadat of the Muslims following Muhammad s.a.w? Is the muamallat of the Muslims following Muhammad s.a.w? Is the muasyarat of the Muslims following Muhammad s.a.w? Is the akhlak of the Muslim following Muhammad s.a.w?

Muslims have been segregated into Sunni, Syiah and each have different Imam, interpretations, beliefs, ideology and political affiliations! How can Muslims unite? To answer this we have to research history and find out when and where were Muslims once united? Muslims need to find that out, learn and follow the traits of those who had lived during that times! How is the quality of their faith? What are their traits?

OUR IMAN IS LIKE MILK!

Milk, poured into tea, changes it's properties and become teh tarik! Milk poured into coffee, changes it's properties and become coffee milk! Milk, poured into chocolate becomes milk chocolate! Our iman today is like milk! Our behavior is affected by the environment we are in! In the mosque we feel pleasant to put our cap but outside the mosque, the cap becomes and irritation! In the mosque we are susceptible to any talk about Islam but outside the mosque, we are reserved when religion is talked about! In Malaysia we meet and give salaam but overseas, we said hi!

Our iman, ulama said, although is like milk now can be enhanced into something strong, like cheese. You put cheese into tea or coffee, it 's characteristics remain the same, unchanged in shape and content! Now, let's ponder how is cheese produced? What process does the milk go through before it becomes cheese? The milk is left to ferment, left for a certain duration, separated, isolated and discarded for a while! It went through a process to harden it. The process is difficult and hard. It went through sacrifice!

So, iman can be enhanced through a process of hardship and sacrifice. How? To answer it, we must go back an see who has the highest and purest of iman! Our father? Our grandfather who was an Imam and a respected person? Our scholars? Our Ulama? Who? Find out, study their traits and emulate! Find out what these people of the highest and purest iman went through! What did they experience? What did they do?

SHOULD YOU WORK FOR YOUR RIZK?

Should you work for your rizk? Is this a mind-boggling, provoking and irritating question? Is it a stupid question? Let's explore....

Our Creator Sustainer and Protector, Allah s.w.t had commanded us to pray, initially, fifty times in a day! This was mentioned in the depictions of our prophet Muhammad s.a.w experiences of Isra' and Mikraj Do we want to dispute? It was however reduced to five after Muhammad s.a.w's consultations with the earlier prophets, got their advice and consented by Allah s.w.t.

The truth of the matter is Allah s.w.t ordered, commanded, instructed and wanted us to pray fifty times in a day! Yes! We have to pray every twenty-three minutes! If so, where can we find time to work for our sustenance? Yes, you and me may argue, right? Why is it that Allah s.w.t didn't allocate time for us to look for our work for our sustenance? Is that what Allah s.w.t wants?

In answering our "queries" and "arguments", we should always reflect to the Hadith that specifically mentioned that our rizk, life, marriage and destiny has been pre-decided, pre-determined by Allah s.w.t! Still difficult to accept? One more! Isn't our purpose of being created to worship Allah s.w.t? Still difficult to accept?

WHERE DO WE STAND AMONG THE FOUR?

Allah s.w.t had described humans under four main criteria or affiliations - Musyriqs, Mukmins, Munafiqs and Muslims

1-Musyriqs - specifically mentioned and impressed upon with a Surah, Al Kafirun

2-Mukmins - specifically mentioned and impressed upon with a Surah, Al Mukminun

3-Munafiqs - specifically mentioned and impressed upon with a Surah, Al Munafiqun

4-Muslims - mentioned eight times and without a Surah!

Is it enough being a Muslim, something which is not specifically mentioned and impressed upon? Isn't all commands of Allah s.w.t and all promises of Allah s.w.t ( good life in Dunia and bliss in Jannah) directed to only Mukmins? Is a Muslim a Mukmin by default? Is it one of the same?

Where do we stand among the four? Where do we fall into?

HOW COULD WE CLAIM WE FOLLOW ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD S.A.W?

There is only one effort (usaha) of all anbiya - dakwah ilallah, invite all humanity to the oneness of allah (mentauhidkan allah)!

There is only one way (tertib) of all anbiya - meet people (jumpa manusia) and glorify allah in-front of them(mengagungkan nama Allah di hadapan mereka)!

There is only one qualification (syarat) of all anbiya - they face hardship and be sacrificed without being accompanied by governments, people, power and weapons!

So, the warriors of Islam today who claimed that they were the fighters (in fact some confidently said that they are the only fighters) for allah's deen and the followers of the prophet should ponder at the effort, tertib and qualifications ordained by Allah s.w.t and Nabi s.a.w!

THE FIVE PERILS OF THIS UMMAT OF MUHAMMAD S.A.W TODAY.

Ummat of Muhammad s.a.w today is LOST because they are void of HIDAYAT
HIDAYAT is in the hands of Allah s.w.t! How can this Ummat attract the HIDAYAT from Allah s.w.t?

Ummat of Muhammad s.a.w today is CURSED because they are void of RAHMAT
RAHMAT is in the hands of Allah s.w.t! How can this Ummat attract the RAHMAT of Allah s.w.t?

Ummat of Muhammad s.a.w today is SICK because they are void of BARAKAH
BARAKAH is in the hands of Allah s.w.t! How can this Ummat attract the BARAKAH from Allah s.w.t?

Ummat of Muhammad s.a.w today is PUNISHED because they are void of FORGIVENESS
FORGIVENESS is in the hands of Allah s.w.t! How can this Ummat attract the FORGIVENESS from Allah s.w.t?

Ummat of Muhammad s.a.w today is DESTROYED because they are void of NUSRAH
NUSRAH is in the hands of Allah s.w.t! How can this Ummat attract the NUSRAH of Allah s.w.t?

There is an answer to each of this question. However, the answer will differ from each Muslim depending on the level of faith (yaqin) to the promises of Allah s.w.t and Rasul s.a.w.
